The Historic Regatta
The Historic Regatta has taken place every year for more than five centuries, on the first Sunday of September.
This sports event and historical re-enactment, the Regatta, is one of the most spectacular, exciting and best loved events in Venetian life. There is first a historic procession and, after, a rowing competition along the Canal Grande, with a parade of hundreds of vessels that compete for victory under the admiring eyes of thousands of tourists and Venetians.
